An amino acid that is used by the body to manufacture proteins.
Assists the body in the use of glucose so may aid in the prevention and treatment of diabetes.
Alanine helps prevent hypoglycemia more commonly known as low blood sugar.
Breaks down tryptophan and vitamin B6 for them to be used as an energy source for muscles and the central nervous system.
Strengthens the immune system.

Side effects of excess Alanine
High levels of alanine has been associated with higher blood pressure levels.
Too much can affect physical growth in children.
